Date Night to Frankie and Bennys

In this post I will be discussing mine and my fiance’s date night out to Frankie and Bennys. Now we have always gone on a date night, since we never really dated before getting together, plus it’s always a great excuse to go out for something nice to eat or drink, even though we don’t really drink alcohol we still just like the atmosphere of being out at night in town so we normally go for a meal instead. And on this specific night we chose to book a table at the restaurant chain Frankie and Bennys, which we have really only just started going too since we used to always go to the Harvester, and we started to get bored with going to the same place every time, so we decided to try F&Bs and we loved it and we change each time we go out now. On this particular night we had not gone out for quite a while and I was really looking forward too going out for something good to eat, so one Conor got home from work we headed off to the train station, as there is not a F&Bs near where we live.We arrived a bit early for our booking so we decided too pop in to Tescos to have a look around and kill some time. However we still had a little bit of time to kill so we decided to go into the arcade next to the restaurant and spent some of our change on the machines, Conor is obsessed with the claw machines, for the last two-times that we went on holiday too Butlins he has been trying to win at least one toy and he has not had any luck as of yet, but we are going again on the 10th of October this year so hopefully he finally gets one. We then finally could go into the resturant and we got seated and got the garlic bread starter since we love that about our meal, we then ordered drinks and or main meals, I ordered a mocktail called Gentle Breeze, which is a mix of cranberry juice, apple juice and lime juice served over ice and finished with a wedge of lime, I totally recommend this mocktail as it is very refreshing. For my main meal I ordered the chicken and prawn alfredo, which is really nice and quite light for an alfredo sauce it had penne pasta with mushrooms, chicken and prawns seasoned with cajan spices and tossed in a creamy cheese sauce and was topped with a heap of rocket which was really way too much for how much pasta I had. Where as Conor had a glass of Coke with ice and his main meal was the New York Chicken burger which is two breaded buttermilk chicken breasts in a brioche bun with mayo, lettuce and tomato and is served with chips and coleslaw on the side, he polished the whole thing so it must be good since he is quite a fussy eater. Once we finished that we was so full we couldn’t have dessert so we just got the bill and made our way to the station for the train journey back home.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about our date night adventure, I would recommend Frankie and Bennys restaurant to anyone that enjoys New York Italian food, you can check out the menu and restaurant finder on the website or app at Frankie and Bennys.com , and in the UK if you join the F&B Rewards club you get £10 off your next visit. I’ve also featured F&Bs in a previous post on the Top 10 restaurants in the UK .

Day out too the Isle of Wight.

A few weeks ago me, my little sister and my mum all went out on a day trip too East and West Cowes on the Isle of Wight. We went over on the Red Funnel ferry leaving from Southampton port, the ferry ride took about 1 hour to get over too East Cowes, the ride went quite quickly and their was food and drink on board, and you could sit on the outside deck and watch all of the views as you go out of Southampton, such as Victoria county park etc. Then once you dock into East Cowes you can go to some of the local attractions such as the Osborne house or the classic boat museum, however we did not go to these and we caught the chain ferry over too West cowes which is where most of the shops and cafes are, so after a quick ride over to the other side we could finally get our trip underway, now I was the only one too come over to this part of the island so I had to lead the way we looked around the quaint little bric n brac shops, and the M&S food hall to pick up some mini Colin the caterpillars (only the best cake treat ever, I am officially obsessed) and some sweets. We finally wondered into a little cafe where we had some lunch as there is a shortage of any McDonald (much to my little sisters dismay) that we could find. After that we went for a walk on the promenade, avoiding some of the boats they was displaying for a boat show, we then saw our ferry coming in and as there not very regular we thought that we better get heading back, there was a bit of panic waiting for the chain ferry as we saw our ferry dock, but we made it with time to spare as foot passengers had to go in the same way as the cars but the cars had to be on first. We then made our way back and sat down inside but was right in front so we could see everything quite well.

So that was our adventure to the Isle of Wight, I had such a lovely time and will defiantly be returning again as all the other times I had been has been great, even though one was for a Hen Do, so even the night life is good on the island. I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing all about my Isle of Wight adventure, I defiantly recommend it to anyone a very relaxing day out.

Lush Aqua Marina face and body cleanser review.

This product is a great all round cleanser for the face and body, however I mainly use it as a face product. I used to suffer from acne and had tried nearly every cleanser , scrub or mask out on the market for acne prone skin and none worked, not even a cleanser and medication from the doctors or Dermatologist. Nothing seemed to work. Until I came into my local lush store to stock up on my bath bombs when one of the employees approached me regarding if I needed any help, and that is when I asked her if she recommended any skin care products for sensitive, blemish prone skin. And she suggested the Aqua Marina cleanser as it was made from all natural ingredients and the ingrediants in it was proven to help with sensitive skin and acne prone skin. I have been using it now for a couple of years and it is my go to cleanser, I completely cleared up my skin after a couple of weeks, and it has kept my acne under control, for the past couple of years to the point where some days I don’t need to wear make up and on the days where  I want too I can just wear a light bb cream, instead for the heavy foundation that I used to wear.It has a clean fresh scent which is good as I have had some skincare that can be very over powering with perfume, where as this is light. Another thing I must say is how soft it leaves my skin feeling after I use it,this could be due to the seaweed and aloe vera which is in it but it makes my skin so soft you just cant stop smoothing your face. The only down side to this product would be the consistency, as it is quite hard to make it smooth enough that you can lather it on your face. But other than that this product is a really amazing product, it really worked clear my skin up so I would recommend it to anyone that has sensitive, acne prone skin, or even just normal skin types, it is a great all around product with I purchase over and over again, and I will remain to do so in the future.

The price of this product is £7.25 per 100g, which is more on the expensive side for a face cleanser, but I think it is well worth it for the results I got from the product.

You can find this product in any Lush stores or online at lush.com

My Autumn/ Fall Essentials

Today I’m going to be sharing my top 10 essentials I need for Autumn or fall time.

1. Candles- I love Candles so much I collect all different scents and types, so these have got to be a big part of my Autumn essentials, my favourite is Yankee candles, there is a Yankee candle shop near where I live and I spend a lot of my time and money in there. A few of my favourite fall time scents are…                     Snow in love- This is actually a winter candle but I love it all year round.

Honey clementine-This one is a new scent for 2016.

Midsummers night- This one is a very deep dark scent, that just makes you feel cosy and warm.

Mandarin cranberry- This one has a lovely fruity scent that makes you feel very cosy and festive

Wedding day- My all time favourite scented candle.
2. Cosy blankets- There is nothing I love more than cuddling up to a good film on the sofa with a nice soft blanket keeping you warm, I have a couple just Incase but my favourite is one I got from Primark quite a while ago now but it is still as soft as ever.

3. Hot chocolate- My favourite hot drink is a nice creamy hot chocolate with cream and mini marshmallows, I am lucky enough to own a tassimo coffe machine and I use the cadburys chocolate pods they are so easy and delicious.

4.Hot Baths- I love a good bath especially with bubbles and a bath bomb, there is nothing quite like it before bed to get you all cosy and sleepy. I normally light some candles, get my bubble bars and bath bombs from lush and sit and wind down after a long day with a hair and face mask. My favourite lush bath bombs and bubble bars are…

Frozen bath bomb

The comforter bubble bar

Ickle baby bot bath bomb

Butterball bath bomb

Dragons egg bath bomb

Pop in the bath bubble bar

5. Fluffy socks/bed socks- Now I never go anywhere with out fluffy socks on in the fall and winter time they are my ultimate essential.

6. Cosy knitted jumpers- My favourite seasons are fall and winter time because of knitted jumpers and the fashion involved with that time of year, plus they never go out of fashion because they are a fall must have.

7.Comfort foods- This is a must, they are the meals that just make you feel all warm inside like a home cooked meal, my favourites are soups, chilli con carne, chicken cassarole with dumplings, chicken stew, sausages and mash with peas and gravy, chicken roast dinner, spaghetti Bolognese, toad in the hole, curry.

8. Dark lipstick- Over the past couple of years I’ve been really loving a dark lip in the autumn time, one of my favourites is by Mac cosmetics, it’s called amorous it is a deep plum red colour and it is my go too dark lip shade.

9.Coffee shops- In fall time the best place to be when it’s cold or raining is a coffee shop my favourite place to go is Costa, I love their coffee or hot chocolate and their food is amazing, you can take away or eat in, which I much prefer to eat in and get on with any work or go with my fiancé or friends and family for a coffee and a chat.

10. Medicine and tissues- This is a massive essential especially in Autumn and winter time because it’s cold and flu season with the change of weather, so you defiantly need to try and combat any germs before you get sick, because I think there is nothing worse than being ill.

So these are my Autumn/ fall essentials, I hope you enjoyed reading this post, don’t forget to check out some of my others.
