Italian inspired Chicken Burgers.

Hello everybody today I will be posting my recipe for my boyfriends favourite meal that I make for him. Since I am vegetarian I do not eat these but I do cook them for Conor since he is a fussy eater and he isn’t the best cook in the world and if I let him he would live on chicken nuggets and chips alone, so here is my recipe for an amazing chicken burger for fussy eaters.

You will need.

1 Chicken Breast per burger 
1 Teaspoon Red/green pesto
Handful of Breadcrumbs
Ciabatta rolls
Slices of buffalo Mozzarella
Slices of Tomato
Lettuce
Mayonnaise

 

Method:

  1. Butterfly and flatten out your chicken breast till they are flat enough so it will cook evenly.
  2. Spread the pesto onto the chicken on both sides.
  3. Next place your chicken breast into the breadcrumbs and coat until it sticks to the pesto.
  4. Heat up some oil in a frying pan then cook the breaded chicken until cooked all the way through and the breadcrumbs have gone golden.
  5. whilst your chicken is cooking prepare your other bits for your burgers so slice your ciabatta rolls in half spread on mayonnaise, place on some leaves of lettuce, then some slices of tomato and lastly a slice of buffalo mozzarella make sure this is in top so when you place on the chicken it will melt so make sure it is on top of all the other extras.
  6. Now once your chicken is cooked fully place on top on mozzerella place on the top bun and enjoy.


 So there you have a really easy 6 step meal that is tasty and fussy eater approved. I normally serve it with some homemade chips cooked in the oven for 40 minutes with some oil, salt and pepper on top they are delicious.

The Body Shop Fuji green tea, Bath Tea review 

Hi everyone today I will be posting my review on The body shops Fuji green tea, Bath tea, now when I saw this in their store I was intrigued so I brought the tea its self and the cool little diffuser that was sold separately. Now it is quite pricey, the tea infuser was £6 and for the actual bath tea was £12, however in the pot you get quite a lot of product so it isn’t too bad For the price. Now with the infuser it has a chain attached so that you can put it on the part of your bath where the chain of the plug is attached to, like it is demonstrated in the image. The scent is very therapeutic and you feel as though you are in a spa, however one thing I noticed is that it is very strong scented so if your not a fan of heavily perfumed products then this may not be for you. So you fill up the infuser about half way with the product and just fill up your bath and it turns it in to this almost milky mixture that I could just tell wa showing to do wonders for my skin, and it really did my skin in fact never felt better after this bath and I felt thoughly relaxed so this one is a great one for bed. One downside is the clean up of the infuser as there are quite a few bits that stay in there and you will need to clean out but all I did was run water through and it soon came out. So over all I would recommend this product to anyone that has trouble with relaxing before bed or relaxing in general, I have defiently added it to my pamper routine before bed. Over all it give this product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Maybelline New York Lash sensational mascara Review

Today I will be reviewing Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara, I have been using this mascara for about 2 months now and I have fallen in love with it, now I always used to buy Maybelline mascara anyway so I knew that it should be good when I bought it,but I didn’t realise how good it was actually going to be. I got mine from Superdrug and it costs £7.99, which I personally think is really good for the quality of the product. The wand is a really great shape to get all of your lashes and it helps add lots of volume and I can even get my bottom lashes with out getting it everywhere.

The actual formula of the product is also great and does not clump on your lashes like some mascara’s do, it creates volume and length to your lashes and leaves them looking luscious and long for a prolonged period of time. I’ve also tested out the waterproof version of this product and the formula really is waterproof as I went swimming in my local pool and went in a hot tub with it on and it stayed put, no panda eyes for me, but it also can be removed easily when using my micellar water and a cotton pad. The packaging is really nice and attractive to the eye , and they have a large range of different kinds such as waterproof, luscious oils, intense black etc. So it all depends on what type of look you are going for. So over all this product is a 10/10 and is going to be one of my go to mascaras of 2016, as I have already repurchased it 3 times in the past 2 months, I definitely recommend it to anyone since there is so many options for what you are looking for.I will link below where you can buy it in the Uk but it should be in any Boots, Superdrug or anywhere they sell Maybelline Make up.  My Experience with having Braces.

Hello, Happy Sunday everybody, today I will be sharing my experience with having braces. Now it all started when I was 13,my dentist at the time (no longer my dentist for this reason) said that I still had a baby tooth and it needed to be removed, and so I thought he is the professional so I had it removed, and quite a few months later a tooth hadn’t grown in it’s place, I then went back to my dentist and saw the same dentist again and he said that he got it wrong and pulled a adult tooth out and referred me to have braces to fix the gap. So I had to go to Winchester a month or so later for a consultation they x rayed my mouth which was strange because it’s this big thing that spins around your head whilst you bite down on something that you just know tons of people have had their mouths around 😵, they also discussed what type of braces I will be needing and If I can get them funded by the NHS or pay for them , luckly I got mine funded since they are very expensive starting at £2,500, Especially seeing it was my dentists fault for me needing them in the first place since I had straight teeth. In this consultation they then take an imprint of your teeth in this horrible clay stuff that sticks everywhere around your mouth. It then took a month or so to have them put on and that wasn’t so bad you are just lay there with glasses on and one of those tools to open your mouth wide and they stick each one on to each tooth with this horrible tasting glue that they then had to set with a uv light and they ask you what colour bands you want, I went with purple at first but there is so many colours to chose from.

Now the next stage is the worse the after you get them put on, at first it feels fine a bit strange having things in your mouth, but after a couple of hours the pain starts to kick in and it is excruciating, I mean tooth pain is the worse for me anyway but that was so painful that I just felt like ripping off the braces just to make the pain stop, and I might be a drama queen but it was so painful, the worse bit was I was in Winchester and still had to get two trains to get home, and people on the train don’t understand why your writhing in pain, I then got some painkillers whilst waiting for my next train at southampton central spending £3 on them because I needed them so badly, at which point it calmed down but wasn’t gone completely. Now I wish I could tell you that that pain stops but no every 4-6 weeks when you go back to the orthodontist to have them tightened up again it comes back, not as bad and not for a long time but it still does hurt. I was living on soup, jelly, ice cream and soft foods for months, and I was not allowed to eat ANYTHING hard, which was difficult seeing there was a sweet shop right next door to my orthodontist. Now I had quite a terrible experience with my orthodontist since I had to travel too Winchester each time by getting 2 trains and therefore my mum spending quite a bit of money on the trains that we did need to get. Then my first orthodontist told me it will only take 14 months and that my teeth was moving too fast and the glue used to stick the braces on wasn’t strong enough and kept on coming away from the tooth, which she used to shout at me about for breaking my brace but once I was just talking to someone and it came away so it was not my fault,she then “left” the orthodontist (I thought thank god she was a right witch) I then went through another two at which point the orthodontist I was with was shutting down, at this point I had my braces on for 4 years which is a really long 14 months, so I got moved to this different orthodontist and the day before I was due to go in they transferred me to somewhere else in Winchester, they was really good and finally after only three appointments I finally got my braces off, which was such a relief and I finally felt free, they did hurt a lot since he literally was just ripping them from my teeth and then had to drill all of the messy half handed glue off my teeth ( which there is still some too this day) and my gums had swollen quite abit and started to bleed as he was a bit rough handed. And after 5 years of pain and practically torture I was fianally free. Except I then had to wear a clear retainer which hurt at first but I soon got used to it and I still wear it everyday at night to stop my teeth from moving again since I do not want to have braces again. Here is the before and after.
So this is my experience of having braces they are good since my gap has closed up, I just have had a bad experience since it started when I was 13 and I got them removed at 18, but this was just me I have known others to have a better experience with having braces, I just thought it would help to share my story with you since I had to have them for half a decade which is a quarter of my whole 20 years. Sick day essentials.

Recently I’ve been a bit under the weather and just been spending the majority of my time staying in bed and resting so today I will be sharing all of my essentials for a sick day.

  1. Plenty of fluids- Now when I’m ill my appatite gets thrown right off, I don’t feel like eating anything at all not even my favourite foods. But I do however get extremely thirsty all the time and nothing seems to quench my thirst, so plenty of fluids is essential to me getting better. When I’m especially sick I love a nice ice cold glass of some fruit squash my favourite is blackcurrent Ribena.
  2. My bed and tons of blankets- When I get ill I normally feel the cold so much that I start shivering so blankets is a must. Also when I’m ill I don’t feel like doing anything at all including getting out of bed.
  3. Access to You tube- This one is something I need to have since It does get quite boring just being in bed all day , however you really do want to keep the videos quite relaxing, my favourites to watch is Zoella, The Pointless Blog, KEEMi, Good mythical Morning, Shane Dawson and more.
  4. Netflix- This is like you tube with the fact that it can get boring doing nothing all day so I normally watch a film on there, or even a few episodes of a tv show my favourite at the moment is Gotham whilst I’m waiting for walking dead to start again.
  5. Medication- Now this is one thsat you need plenty of when sick, depending on what is wrong depends on what medication you need, now I’m no doctor so I cant give you the best medication advice, but what I take when I’m feeling ill is 2 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen every 4 hours, and it normally clears everything up in a couple of days, I also take a tonic for after I’m sick to get me back to my normal self, I normally get the metatone tonic which they sell in Boots or Superdrug stores.
  6. Warming comfort foods- This is a must since even though you may not feel like eating anything you need to have something to keep your energy levels up so you can start getting better so I like too have things that are log and easy to eat, such as soups, noodles, jelly, ice cream, beans on toast etc. My favourite soups are spicy tomato, oxtail, chicken noodle and my own chunky spicy leek and potato soup, which the recipe is in a post but I have linked the post.
  7. Hot bath- This one always makes me feel at least a little bit better I like a nice Hot bath with steam to clear everything, I like to use a relaxing bath bomb such as the Ickle baby bot bath bomb from lush, I will also add some bubbles by using either the relaxing bubble bath from Radox or the Milky bath bubble bar from lush. I will sometimes add some candles to the side of the bath and listen to some relaxing music from a playlist on Spotify.
  8. Soft tissues- This is pretty self explanatory since if you are having a runny nose as a symptom of your illness then you will pretty much need some tissues but I like to get the Kleenex brand especially the ultra soft ones since there is nothing worse than a sore nose.
  9. Phone- I think is one of the main ones since you can do so much on it, from playing games, to searching the Internet, watching YouTube or Netflix, listening to music and going on social media this is the ultimate thing you need for entertainment, but I do suggest not looking up your symptoms as you may freak out and think that you are dying.

Chunky leek and potato soup recipe 

This is my soup recipe that I mentioned in my autumn/fall essentials post, it’s perfect for a cold day and especially if your feeling under the weather, so I hope you enjoy the recipe and if you try it don’t forget to leave me a comment telling me that you did.

Serves 2 

Cook on hob on medium high heat in a saucepan. 

Ingredients:

– 1 whole leek sliced finely 

– 2 carrots sliced 

– 1 large potato cut into cubes

-1 chicken stock 

-enough water to cover the ingredients 

-herbs and spices just a pinch too taste, such as/ basil,parsley,thyme and chilli powder( I like mine quite spicy so I add more of this one)

-80g Pasta per person 

-salt and pepper to taste

The recipe:

  1. Prepare all of your ingredients 
  2. Add some oil into a large saucepan and fry off the leek.
  3. Add in the carrot and potato to fry them off slightly 
  4. Mix the stock cube into a jug of water following the amount you need on the stock cube packet, then add into vegetables.
  5. Now add in all of the herbs and salt and pepper just a pinch of each too taste, but I like to add more chilli powder as I like it hot. 
  6. Next add in your pasta any type is fine, but my favourite is Farfalle, also make sure you cover the ingredients with enough water.
  7. Now you just need too wait for the pasta and potatoes too cook and soften so pop the lid on the pan and turn it down slightly so it doesn’t over cook and leave it to simmer.
  8. Keep checking it to make sure you know when it is done by tasting a piece of the pasta and try cutting the potato to see if it is still hard, this can take up to about 20 minutes but it may take longer or shorted amount of time.
  9. Once it’s done it’s ready to serve, I normally serve it with a slice of bread and butter so you can dunk it in the broth and in a large bowl. Enjoy
